Sony has invited its most important industry friends to Japan early
next month to celebrate the sale of the 50 millionth Playstation. The
people being courted here aren't the sort to fly half way around the world
to worry about such things, but Sony is apparently seriously urging big
cheeses to attend, informing then that the trip will be well worth their
time. Is this the unveiling of Playstation 2? Rumors are gathering credence
- the meeting will be the definitive advent of Playstation 2 development
kits to the Western world. One anonymous source commented: "Sony isn't
saying one way or the other. But I certainly hope so..."
